GoatCounter counts the visits to this carnet. It is an audience measurement service operated out of the Republic of Ireland. It records, day by day and in aggregate:

• the page you opened
• the site you came from
• the browser and the system, as your browser announces them
• the country, derived from the IP address
• the language and the screen width

These numbers say which texts are read. They do not say who reads them.

GoatCounter keeps neither your IP address, nor the full header of your browser, nor any advertising identifier. It writes nothing in your browser: no cookie, no local storage, no cache.

To link two pages of one visit, it holds a hash of the site name, the IP address and the browser in memory, for eight hours at most. That hash never reaches the database: only a random string does.

The CNIL, the French data protection authority, exempts audience measurement from consent when it serves the publisher alone, follows nobody across sites, shares nothing with a third party, and produces aggregated statistics only. That is the case here, and it is why no banner meets you at the door.

The GDPR still applies. That is what this page is for.

The carnet writes three values into your browser's local storage: the chosen theme, the light or dark mode, and the follow-the-season flag. They never leave your device, and they only serve to show the carnet as you left it.

Clearing the storage of this site erases them. The carnet then returns to the colour of the current season.

Vercel hosts the site, and also measures how long a page takes to appear (Vercel Speed Insights). That measurement is anonymous, it drops no cookie, and it only says whether the carnet shows up fast.

The fonts are served from this domain. No request goes to Google while you read this page.

The data described here is aggregated and cannot single you out. So there is nothing about you to extract, to correct or to delete.
